If you have been online lately you may have noticed a humorously exaggerated drawing of Frieren has been making the rounds. Reddit user u/SpaceDev1 posted the meme-worthy fan art in r/Frieren last Wednesday to unexpected fanfare.

Title just as ‘Frieren’ the image caught everyone’s attention with Frieren’s comically small face and deeply exaggerated chin in the elf’s iconic post caused a loving stir within the subreddit. The original post has since been pinned to the top of the subreddit, and made the rounds throughout other anime and animation based subreddits. Half of the original subreddit is following up on the trend, including photoshopped cosplay, animated versions, pixel art, and merging the iconic face with older memes.

The face has spread beyond loving adaptions of the goofy proportions and made its way officially into the fandom. Mallorie Rodak, the English language voice of Frieren and Frieren super fan has adopted the angle as her avatar on Twitter.

Season 2 of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is less than two months away from airing. The flurry of excitement around the image is only exacerbated by the hype for the next season. It feels like everyone is ready for the show to begin airing.
